This was the shortest vacay I had ever! Literally just a night stay!
After travelling for almost 10 hours, we finally arrived in Candelaria, Zambales at lunchtime. All of us were dead tired after that long trip. (Luckily the traffic was very light as it was Good Friday.) We went swimming to Potipot island at around 4pm, that is why we didn't get sunburned. Haha! I think that's the best time to dip for people like me who doesn't want to be sun-kissed.
Our original plan was to return back to the island by the next morning (black Saturday). It turns out that the 10 minute ride to the island will cost us $$$ for the boat and entrance fees. Yes, you have to pay for entrance fees when you go to Potipot. It's not a private island with amenities and stuff. It's just the same as the Hundred Islands in Pangasinan which is managed by the local government. Several shower cubies (similar to those portable ones) are available around the island. There are kubos around but you have to rent them for about Php 500. Yes, too expensive! But the waters are clear and doesn't smell like the sea. (That familiar smell similar to Manila bay's always turns me off!) There is a huge dead coral reef near the beach, so you better wear slippers or something kasi talagang masakit sa paa!
We just stayed there for less than 24 hours but we enjoyed a lot. Too bad summer is about to end. I hope our next getaway will be soon.

First tree house I've seen in my life. As in house, not just the kubo ones. This is where the island marshals are staying. |
Of course I brought xiao bu along! ^_^ |
