Holiday Getaway 2012

By xiaokhat - January 18, 2013

It's been almost a month since my last out-of-the country vacation and I have always felt really lazy to blog about it although I have already blogged some of it on tumblr.

We visited 3 cities from 2 countries during our 5 day vacay, and I'd say I enjoyed a lot during those days..

December 19th

It was raining when we first step our foot on Singapura, but we're glad the rains stopped later in the afternoon. We strolled around Bugis Junction then spent the rest of the day inside our hotel room. How I wished we strolled around Orchard road instead. -.-

A day at Universal Studios

khaterald's monthsary!!!

The hotel we're staying at offers a tour package so mom availed a city tour which also includes tix to Universal Studios. Availing that tour package is very convenient since a tour bus picked us and sent us back to the hotel, not only that, we got discounted tickets as well!!!

So we spent the day at Universal Studios and I super hate the roller coaster there. Their roller coaster has this human vs cyclops thing. It’s 2 roller coasters in one. The “human” roller coaster is just like your ordinary rc ride, well, human-friendly. While the “cyclops” rc, is the wildest! The seats are floorless, the tracks are above you, meaning you’re hanging all along! Plus the ride has a lot of wild loops, it’s impossible that you won’t get dizzy. That cyclops rc drained all my energy. I’m just so glad that the other riders were also shouting and screaming, except that chinese guy, I think he’s chinese, sitting beside me. I was screaming on top of my lungs and he was just there, sitting quietly. So after that ride, I felt like I was molested. Wahaha! I can't even walk! We had lunch at the Jurassic Park food court, and that place looks exactly the same as the movie, even the dessert which comes with every meal! (In the food court are several, different food shops, which gives the same Jurassic Park dessert every mean.) We didn't get to ride the Transformers 3D since the queue is really long, and that time we forgot to take a lot of patience with us. =p  But we get to ride the Shrek 3D and I enjoyed it a lot! :)

Sentosa

After enjoying at Universal Studios, we decided to explore a bit of the Sentosa island. In Sentosa, there's this train which could get you from Universal Studios to the Sentosa beach side for free. Yes, for FREE! So from US, we rode the "train" until the beach walked back to US. There we saw the Merlion, bought some souvenirs, then walked again. Btw, the REAL Merlion is near Marina Bay Sands, which is far from Sentosa, I think.... We also explored Resorts World Sentosa (actually US is already in RWS) before heading back home.

December 21st

SG Flyer and the Merlion

The day started with a ride on the SG flyer. On peak hours, the capsules would be too crowded. Glad we went there early. Only 12 passengers were in each capsule, so the place is still spacious for us to take photos. After that, we had a duck tour. A "duck" is a boat which has wheels, so it could also be used on land. We toured on and around Marina bay. After a hearty meal in an Indian restaurant, we walked from SG Flyer to Merlion. I forgot the name of the place where the Merlion is in! Sarry~~ That was quite a long walk, my legs got really tired that day that I forgot to watch 愛情闖進門. (WLWI is shown on Channel U very Fridays in SG)

December 22nd

Dad at Danga Bay

From Singapore, we crossed the border and went to Malaysia by bus. The first Malaysian city we visited was Johor Bahru. My mom was so in love with the Danga Bay so we stayed there for 2 nights. The weather that morning was so hot yet it rained in the afternoon. We spent like 4-5 hours at the immigration, and the place was too crowded. I’m just so glad that the Malaysian immigration was air conditioned. Only dad and DD went out that night because mom was too tired and sleepy and I'd rather fangirl than go with them. =p

December 23rd

Pretending we went to Legoland ;p

That was a sunny yet a cool morning. We first strolled at JB City Square and it's really cool that there was a mall-wide sale that day! I liked a pair of shoes yet I didn't get to buy it. =(  After lunch, we went to Legoland Malaysia but we decided not to enter the park since the place is already full, tickets were already sold out that only people who bought tix from other places were the only ones who could get in. So, there you are, we just took pictures, strolled around the "mall" outside Legoland, then went back home.

We left Johor Bahru early in the morning and went to Kuala Lumpur by bus. We arrived at KL at around 12:30, then went straight to the hotel. Dad and mom went out and explored KL while me and DD were left in the hotel room. In the evening, after dinner, we went out to see Petronas Towers at night. The towers are really.. I don't know how to explain it! They're more than beautiful! After taking photos, we went inside the mall near Petronas, had some coffee at SB, then head back to our hotel. Oh oh, at the mall, there was this guy who proposed to his girlfriend in front of the crowd! It was really a romantic scene!

December 25th

Going home...

Last day! Before checking out, we first took a lot of pictures and had lunch. Then, we strolled around Ampang park with all luggage, stayed at KL Sentral for around 3 hours, then went to the airport. We left Kuala Lumpur at around 6:30 pm and arrived in Manila at around 10:00 pm, a few minutes ahead of the schedule.

So, there it is!!! My vacay diary. Next stop? Any suggestion? =)
